Future Builders of America

Our first grade class participated in the Lowe’s Build and Grow clinic in the classroom. Ms. Kimberly teaches the free how-to clinics two Saturdays a month at Lowe’s in Gaffney. She taught the students how to use the safety equipment, follow a written set of directions, and safely use a hammer. The boys built a table top basketball game complete with stickers and score board. The girls built a see through planter adorned with flowers. The children received a free work apron, safety goggles, merit badge, and completion certificate from Lowe’s. We had a busy morning as the children hammered away. What a delight to watch classmates join together to ensure that each project was completed in time. We are fortunate to have a wonderful and supportive community at Limestone-Central Elementary.
